Later in the 2021 model year, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe will become available for the first time. This plug-in hybrid SUV will be equipped with a turbo-four engine and two electric motors for a combined 375 horsepower.

The base engine works with a six-speed manual transmission, but you can optionally pair it with a slick-shifting eight-speed automatic. The eight-speed automatic is the standard transmission for all of the other engines.

For 2021, Jeep is offering the full-time Selec-Trac transfer case as standard equipment on some of the Wrangler’s upper trims and an option on others. This two-speed transfer case improves the crossover’s handling on the pavement because it can automatically switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive to suit different driving conditions. Additionally, the new Jeep Wrangler’s handling is further enhanced with an updated steering system, which contributes to a more stable and confident driving experience.
