February 22nd, 2021 by

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica isn’t just your typical minivan; Chrysler continues to dominate this segment by engineering the Pacifica to perform like an SUV. Its exterior style is turning heads with its sculpted, athletic look. The Pacifica has all the creature comforts and conveniences that make driving one or riding in one a pleasant experience. The Pacifica isn’t a good minivan — it’s a great one. Let’s take a closer look at why.

Bold Exterior Style

Chrysler has redesigned the Pacifica’s front and rear fascias for a bold new look. LED lighting is standard on every trim, with the LED headlights being 100% wider, and an increased beam length improving your ability to see. LED taillights and daytime running lights make you more visible to other drivers.

The sculpted sides and gently sloping roofline give the Chrysler Pacifica an athletic posture. Roof rails with integrated crossbars can carry extra gear on those long family road trips, and the power sliding side doors as well as the power rear liftgate all operate hands-free by waving your foot beneath the sensor mounted beneath the door.

In addition, new Foreshadow wheels are available as part of the S appearance package. These come in the standard 18-inch size, and can also be available in a 20-inch variation. The S Appearance Package comes with black anodized ink badging and black exterior accents, and the Pinnacle trim features elegant design touches like platinum chrome accents all around the exterior.

Performance Engineering

Chrysler uses its 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with dual overhead cams in every trim. When paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift control technology, this powertrain gets an impressive 287 horsepower.

A Pacifica Hybrid model uses a lithium-ion battery that can drive up to 32 miles on a single charge when utilizing the all-electric mode. However, this hybrid powertrain intelligently switches between electric and gas functions for better economy and power on demand. A regenerative braking system helps improve driving range by capturing the energy created while braking and returning it to the battery for later use. What might be the best deal out of this is that the recharging takes as little as two hours. Another perk to know is that a partnership with Amazon can provide you a reliable solution for installing your home charging station.

The Pacifica boasts the most advanced all-wheel-drive (AWD) system in its class on the Limited and Platinum trims. It’s the only fully automatic available all-wheel-drive system capable of sending 100% of the engine’s power to the rear wheels or whichever wheels have the best grip. This results the vehicle to better handle various terrains in equally various conditions ranging from snow, ice, mud, and rain, when compared to other minivans.

As a safety measure, the AWD system is activated when a loss of traction is detected, and the system sends power to the wheels that can use the needed grip the most. It will engage when the temperature dips below freezing, when the car detects rough surface conditions, when you activate the wipers, or if the vehicle detects abrupt steering input.

Comfort and Convenience Features

You can seat up to eight people in the Pacifica’s spacious interior. Seats are comfortable and come in various materials, ranging from premium cloth to the luxurious quilted caramel Nappa leather. Optional lumbar support pillows are available for the second-row seats. Satin chrome finishes, a suede headliner, Berber carpets, and plenty of soft-touch materials may add a refined look and feel to the Pacifica’s interior.

The S Appearance Package features black leather-trimmed seats with diesel gray accent stitching and a piano black accent steering wheel. Easy Tilt Seating allows third-row passengers to get in and out with the simple lift of a lever that tilts the second-row seats forward. If you’re the type who needs full concentration on the road ahead, active noise cancellation technology can be used to help keep unwanted sounds from the engine and the surroundings for a more peaceful drive.

Through Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Go, the second and third-row seats fold flat beneath the floor for an expansive cargo area. The available Stow ‘n Vac option makes for easy cleanup with a vacuum powered by RIGID that stores in the interior panel.

In-Vehicle Technology

All your technology is connected through the UConnect 4 system and is operated by the 10.1-inch color touch screen, the largest in its class. The system comes with 19 widgets to customize five family profiles, as well as another designated for the valet. You can mix and match your content while having two devices connected simultaneously. An available FamCam projects a live feed to the touch screen from the rear cabin so you can also keep tabs on the family.

The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities let you connect all your smart devices for hands-free operation. There is also an Alexa built-in for added productivity. An available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot allows all your passengers to stream content to up to eight devices. UConnect Market is a new, available feature that turns your Pacifica into your wallet. Now you can pay for fuel, food, parking, and more through their network of vendors.

Driver-Assist Technology

Chrysler includes a suite of driver-assist systems standard on every Pacifica. These systems use a combination of radar and cameras to monitor the road around your vehicle, alerting you to potential hazards. In some cases, they can also provide additional brake support or steering input to help you avoid or lessen a possible impact.

The suite also includes full-speed forward collision warning with active braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, pedestrian automatic emergency braking, LaneSense lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and ParkSense rear park assist.

Chrysler continues to set the standard in manufacturing minivans. The 2021 Pacifica is loaded with the latest in-vehicle technology, premium seating, and modern amenities to make for the most comfortable ride yet. Its sleek modern style and athletic engine make the Pacifica a pleasure to drive. Add in the driver-assist suite, and the 2021 Pacifica proves it’s not simply a good minivan but a great one.
