Trim Levels and Exterior

The 2020 Dodge Charger is offered in a spread of trim levels: the SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat Widebody,Ā  SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody and SRT Jailbreak.
There are 13 exterior paint options available to the 2022 Charger. The widebody models have a wider stance on the road that both increases the Chargerā€™s handling and makes it look tougher than ever. Starting at the GT level, your muscle car gets a functional hood scoop. The Chargerā€™s blacked-out, two-tiered front fascia sports unique badging and designs as you move through the trims. Each Charger features the modern, muscled lines and grooves that make this American icon stand out in a crowd. One of the biggest draws to the Charger is its ability to balance heritage and modern muscle car style. From its forward-leaning stance and curved hood to the rear spoiler, the 2022 Charger turns heads wherever your adventures take you.

Engine Options

The 2020 Charger has four engine options to choose from. As you progress through the trim levels, the standard engine changes.

  • 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6:292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, standard on the SXT and GT. When this engine is paired with all-wheel drive, its output increases to 300 horsepower.
  • 5.7-liter HEMI V-8:370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, standard on the R/T
  • 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V-8:485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, standard on the Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody
  • 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8:Best-in-class 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, standard on the SRT Hellcat Widebody

Each of these engines is matched with a smooth-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The higher the trim level, the better your Chargerā€™s suspension and braking system will be. At the top of the lineup, youā€™ll find the widebody competition suspension and a six-piston Brembo high-performance braking system. At the higher-level trims, youā€™ll get a Launch Control feature that helps you take off from the starting line and improve your track times.

Other available features include the Sport Mode switch that increases throttle response and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters that allow you to take great control over your automatic transmission. A Ready Alert Braking feature gives you more braking power when it senses youā€™re about to engage a panic stop.

If youā€™re looking for a muscle car thatā€™s more practical for your daily drives throughout the year, the SXT and GT have the option to switch to an all-wheel-drive system that improves their traction on slick roads. Another neat feature the Charger offers is the Rain Brake Support system, which uses a small amount of pressure to remove water from the carā€™s calipers when you engage the windshield wipers.

Interior

Thanks to the Chargerā€™s four-door body, this muscle car is the way to go if you plan on driving with passengers often. The Charger seats up to five passengers in 104.7 cubic feet of cabin space, or four adults if you want some elbow room. The truck fits up to 16.5 cubic feet of cargo, but the 60/40-split fold-down rear seats let you load longer items.

To keep you comfortable throughout the year, the Charger offers cold-weather features that make its cabin cozy. Take hold of the available heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, lean back in the Scat Packā€™s heated and ventilated leather seats, and adjust the dual-zone climate control to your liking.

Let the sunshine into your cabin with the available panoramic sunroof that gives your Charger a convertible feel. Upgrade to the sepia Laguna leather trim with perforated inserts to get a luxurious first-class cabin atmosphere. Keep your devices charged when youā€™re on the go with the Chargerā€™s USB and 12-volt power outlets. Everywhere you look in the 2020 Charger, thereā€™s a new feature and design to explore.

Technology

Each 2022 Charger comes equipped with a touch screen that performs a wide variety of functions. This 7- or 8.4-inch touch screen is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trim levels. These programs allow you to access many of your favorite phone apps and features completely hands-free. The 7-inch digital driver display between analog gauges shows you the information most important to you.

The touch screenā€™s available Performance Pages program lets you view and track in-depth data about how your Charger and you are performing. The program gives you real-time information about data such as G-forces, power output, and track times, and will even allow you to upload your data to the internet.

Other notable tech features include the push-button engine ignition, remote vehicle starter, the fully electronic shifter, and the premium 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Safety

Not only does the 2022 Dodge Charger bring raw power to the streets, but it also brings the smarts. Its available advanced safety technologies make the 2022 Charger safer than it has ever been. These driver-assist technologies are proactive, working with the more reactive advanced air bag system and sturdy frame to keep you and your passengers out of harmā€™s way.

Opt for a model equipped with the available full-speed forward collision warning with active braking system to more efficiently react to dangers on the road ahead. Use the available lane departure warning with lane keep assist system to fight distractions and stay in your lane. The available blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-path detection helps you stay aware of what cars behind you are up to.
